2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure

The poor economy did not reflect itself at the recent PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. A record turnout of 1347 players battled over a $3,000,000 first prize with 199 players getting paid. The second and third place prizes were not to shabby either, with 2nd receiving 1.7M and 3rd receiving 1.1M. Fourth walked away with only 750K.
Two of my close friends Dan Heimiller and Kathy Liebert both made it deep into the tournament. Heimiller made the final table and settled for 7th place and 300k. Kathy finished in 12th which was good for 120k.
I battled my way down to 134th place which was good for 12.5k, there was no difference in the prize money between 131st and 199th, so if I could have finished 4 spots higher I could have received and additional 2500. Unfortunately I forgot to win a hand in the last two levels of day two and went out with KJo from middle position.
I flew back home with my winnings and I am off to teach a WPT Boot Camp at the Golden Nugget in Vegas.
